Direct Hire, Senior Security Engineer
Hybrid - 3 days in office
As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be at the forefront of researching and rectifying security breaches and vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will conduct both routine and ad-hoc audits of user and network activities. Your primary objective is to safeguard and augment the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of all infrastructure resources within our organization. The Senior Security Engineer plays a crucial role within the ETS Security Engineering Team, responsible for delivering engineering and operational support for our corporate infrastructure security systems. This position demands an advanced level of expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in Cisco-based firewall and VPN technologies. You will excel in analyzing server and firewall logs, meticulously examining network traffic, and adeptly troubleshooting escalated incidents and service requests.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a Security Engineer role, with a direct focus on Cisco Firewalls and Security Vulnerability Management Suite.
- Demonstrate a track record of at least 2 years working with Cloud providers, showcasing expertise in security and networking within platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, etc.
- Showcase a minimum of 2 years of practical experience in Cisco general networking and wireless solutions, highlighting proficiency in deploying and managing these technologies effectively.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION PREFERENCES
- Bachelors degree in computer science, related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional (Security).
Essential job functions
- Collaborate with a diverse global team of Infrastructure Engineers to uphold corporate security measures both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Develop, implement, and oversee robust policies, procedures, and plans for system security administration and user access, aligning with industry-standard best practices.
- Provide support for essential network technologies including routers, switches, and load balancers as needed.
- Manage and support Cloud Security Services, encompassing firewalls, load balancers, security groups, ACLs, SASE, SSE, and more.
- Take charge of designing, engineering, and maintaining corporate and global firewalls, cloud security, and VPN configurations for internal and customer-facing applications.
- Actively engage in resolving daily incidents and service requests related to the security platform.
- Play a key role in establishing and nurturing productive relationships with Security Vendors and Managed Service Providers.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and support of wireless networks and IPS on a global scale.
- Stay updated on the latest security technologies and provide recommendations to ETS leadership for enhancing and fortifying environments.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive practical expertise in firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other prevalent industry techniques and practices.
- Profound comprehension of TCP/IP protocols, as well as proficiency in routing and subnetting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with IPSEC/SSL protocols, showcasing a strong foundation in secure network communication.
- Equally adept at handling both Security Engineering and Operations functions, ensuring a comprehensive approach to network security.
- Proficiency in utilizing MS Office suite, particularly Visio, for effective documentation and visualization of network architecture.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, providing the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Self-sufficiency in troubleshooting firewall and VPN issues, demonstrating a high level of technical proficiency.
- Adept at prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent issues, ensuring effective resolution and minimizing impact on operations.
