ABOUT YOU
As a Senior Safety Specialist, you possess a deep understanding of occupational safety and health regulations, coupled with strong analytical and communication skills. You excel in identifying hazardous conditions, conducting thorough accident investigations, and developing effective safety training programs. With a keen attention to detail, you ensure compliance with regulations and policies while managing contracts and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Your proactive approach, combined with adaptability and initiative, drives continuous improvement in workplace safety, ultimately safeguarding Massport employees and facilities while minimizing risks and liabilities.
What you will do:
  • Develop and implement safety programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, focusing on reducing employee injuries and controlling costs.
  • Assist in the creation and adaptation of safety programs in response to new regulations and initiatives, ensuring alignment with OSHA standards and Massport policies.
  • Provide comprehensive safety support across all Massport facilities and construction projects, including conducting inspections, audits, and accident investigations.
  • Manage Industrial Hygiene & Asbestos Abatement contracts, overseeing asbestos removal, coordinating with relevant agencies, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and budgets.

WHAT YOU OFFER
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, public health and safety, occupational safety, or related technical field
  • 5-7 years' experience implementing comprehensive safety programs, emphasizing construction safety and compliance.
  • Proficient in Massachusetts and federal laws, regulations, and OSHA Safety Standards 1926 Construction and 1910 General Industry.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a Massachusetts Class D driver's license.
