TITLE:Senior Rigger

LOCATION: Albuquerque, NM / Kirtland Air Force Base

CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Secret Clearance

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, On-site

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: 10%


POSITION SUMMARY

MGS is seeking a qualified FAA Senior Rigger with extensive experience in military and civilian parachute systems. As a Senior Rigger, you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in parachute system maintenance, supporting Combat Mission Readiness (CMR) and jump operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing training on the maintenance and repair of parachute and Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE).
  • Educating and overseeing Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rigger performance.
  • Documenting processes and driving continual process improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with company standard operating policies (SOP) and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current FAA Senior Rigger certification with chest and back ratings.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of 10 years of rigging experience.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
  • Experience maintaining the following parachute systems:
    • UPT Vector Harness/Container
    • PD Main/Reserve Parachute Canopies
    • CYPRES 2 Automatic Activation Device (AAD)
    • RA-1 Parachute System (BOC and DBSL configurations) and RA-1 Reserve
    • SOV 3 Parachute System (BOC and DBSL configurations)
    • Butler Reserve Parachute System /TT-600/1000 Bundle Recovery System
    • RA-1 Mini system (270), RA-1 Instructor Raider (IR) System, and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) parachute systems
  • Proficiency in updating in-process inspection documentation and Flight Equipment Records Management System (FERMS).
  • Knowledge of billing/invoicing processes and ordering of containers, jumpsuits, and canopies.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, multitasking ability, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with formal classroom/field instruction techniques and procedures.
  • Certification in Back and Chest Ratings.
  • Extensive experience in assembling and inspecting main and reserve canopies.
  • Experience in conducting maritime operations, including washing and hanging systems after water jumps.
  • Experience with Military Tandems, BOC, and S/L configurations, and packing for passengers.
  • Experience in civilian loft management, including day-to-day operations and ordering supplies.
  • Extensive experience in Reserve Inspection and Repack, as well as Main Inspection and Repack.
  • Compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements, ratings, and privileges.

Physical Demands

  • Must be physically fit and able to pack parachutes outdoors for extended periods.
  • Conduct training functions in accordance with applicable Air Force, DoD, and FAA regulations.
