Senior Research & Evaluation (Data Specialist)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Research Specialist is primarily responsible for the management, development, and implementation of quantitative and qualitative research projects for internal and external clients. The Senior Research and Data Specialist is an individual contributor at the senior specialist level in a specific area of expertise and is accountable for professional functions and/or systems, including research project management and data analysis and dissemination.
The Senior Research Specialist for R&E may provide guidance to other professionals and administrative staff either in a supervisory, project management, or technical capacity. The Senior Specialist is considered a career level professional and utilizes independent judgement consistently in their work. Work at this level requires substantial knowledge in an area of specialization with both conceptual understanding and sufficient professional experience to work on complex assignments with minimal supervision.
POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Data Collection and Management

• Supports quantitative research and analyses for major surveys of LHD infrastructure.
• Serves as a consultant and subject matter expert (SME) to other NACCHO programs on survey data, questionnaire design, fielding, data cleaning, and analysis.
• Acts as a consultant to other NACCHO staff by providing expertise in qualitative research methods such as focus groups or key informant interviews, including instrument development, fielding, and analysis
• Develops and manages data cleaning and analysis plans and codebooks, conducts quality assurance checks on data, performs statistical analyses, and develops reports/products on research results.
• Co-authors written products based on R&E-led studies, including methodology, charts, figures, and analytical text.
• Serve as project manager for research components of projects
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Bachelor's degree and certification in relevant professional field with a minimum of 5-7 years relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, including a relevant certification. Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.

• Demonstrated work experience coding and analyzing data in Stata (Stata is required for this experience and .do files demonstrative of experience should be submitted with application materials)
• Demonstrated work experience in completing or managing research projects
• Experience developing survey instruments, interview guides, and focus group guides in paper and web-based formats
• Experience using and administering web-based survey systems
• Demonstrated work experience with qualitative data analysis (NVivo preferred)
• Experience with Smartsheet or other project management software preferred
• Demonstrated work experience visualizing and disseminating data to technical and non-technical audiences via oral presentation, peer-reviewed publications and abstracts, and/or technical or stakeholder reports

Salary Range: $74,883 - $78,842
