Senior Real Estate Accountant

SENIOR REAL ESTATE ACCOUNTANT

 We are looking for a full-time real-Estate Accountant to join our TEAM!   You will assist with the accounting and tax return preparation for our numerous residential and commercial properties, as well as assist with our home-office operation.

Responsibilities include:

1.      Create detailed journal entries and post them to the general ledger.

2.      Reconcile general ledger accounts, including fixed assets, accruals, bank accounts and deferrals.

3.      Ability to work within accounts receivable and accounts payable systems, as needed for year-end reconciliations or to assist

         A/R A/P staff or other accountants.

4.      Assist with periodic reporting of property operations and presentation to ownership.

5.      Working with outside lenders and vendors to provide required compliance information.

Real Estate Accounting

6.      Accounting degree and/or relevant industry experience (2 years or more) with property accounting, CAM and expense reconciliations

         and completion of year-end accounting.  Might include experience working with or preparation of partnership tax forms (1065 series).

7.      Working directly with Yardi and App Folio Real Estate accounting software.

         Home-Office Accounting

8.      Assist with investment accounting for ownership entities.

9.      Assist with accounting for other assets or investments owned by individual ownership groups.

10.    Assist with document accumulation and basic information needed to prepare accounting reports and tax preparation for owners and

        their groups.

The successful candidate will have the ability to balance numerous tasks, and to assign and change priorities as needed.

This is an office-based position, working remotely is not an option as the daily collaboration of staff is crucial for success.

Strong communication skills are key, including the ability to work with people up and down the organization, including sometimes with owners.   We love input from our staff on how we can accomplish our tasks better or more efficiently.

Compensation will be based on experience and education and will be in the $70,000 per year range.
