Senior Quality Engineer

Summary

The Senior Quality Engineer is a new position, supporting the Tex-Tech Engineered Composites (TTEC) division, currently located in Gardena, California with operations moving to Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2025. The Sr. Quality Engineer will be based in Kernersville, NC and will remotely support the Gardena operations and help facilitate the startup of operations at the new plant in Winston-Salem. The position is intended to grow into a Quality Manager in 12 months as Quality technicians are hired.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of TTEC’s QA department, including a small team of lab technicians.
• Prepare for the new site with the creation and revision of documentation, processes, and standards.
• Maintain an internal audit system
• Manage customer audits, supplier audits, and participate in customer/supplier visits.
• Responsible for overall supplier quality
• Approve and maintain visual inspection standards, physical testing specifications, and customer specific requirements
• Manage certification and calibration of ASTM testing equipment for the plant
• Monitor quality reporting data, returns/allowances as a percentage of sales, and customer scorecard ratings.
• Assist the Plant Manager in maintaining Material Review Board (MRB) process to properly disposition all material
• Manage Certificate of Analysis (COA) process for incoming raw materials and finished goods
• Assist process engineers with FMEA and Control Plan maintenance
• Respond to customer concerns including authorization of credit requests or returns
• Assist in root cause analysis and develop corrective action strategies for internal and customer related quality issues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in technical field
• AS9100 or ISO9001 required
• Experience managing in a certified testing laboratory required
• 3+ years working in a manufacturing environment required
• Looking for someone interested in learning and growing into a Quality Manager role within the next 12 months
