Job description

The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst’s primary responsibility is to execute testing of Internal Audit activity with some supervision. They may lead specific reviews as well as manage stakeholder relationships for the areas they cover.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular Quality Assurance reviews (vertical file reviews, horizontal and real time reviews) of Internal Audit testing to identify and address quality issues and ensure compliance with Internal Audit methodology and policies.
  • Ensure standard QA Test Procedures are performed adequately and/or lead the development of engagement specific QA testing plan where required. Ensure work done is sufficiently documented, and results/ conclusions are identified to meet QA objectives. Ensure rationale for classification of findings and ratings are documented in QA workpapers.
  • Review and validate QA results with senior management and leads for the engagements reviewed, draft QA reports including the QA conclusion/ ratings for the reviews performed.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the internal audit teams.
  • Support quarterly QA reporting to Senior Management or Audit Committee.
  • Assist with special projects related to department strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and materials to educate IA team members regarding IA policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in QA and apply them to enhance QA strategies and processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to QA team members and other stakeholders in resolving quality-related issues.
  • Contribute to the development and expansion of the global QA program.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of QA principles, methodologies, Audit tools (TeamMate), and best practices.
  • Knowledge and professional work experience of business processes, risks, and controls at a (re)insurance company or related financial institution.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong planning and organization skills and understanding of deadlines.
  • Knowledge of audit procedures, including a working knowledge of IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) Standards.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple and competing projects.
  • Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with Audit teams while maintaining independence.
  • Undergraduate or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, or Risk Management.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years’ experience within Internal Audit or Public Accounting QA function.
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE, or other relevant certifications are optional but not required.

Salary Range: $100,000– $150,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
