JOB SUMMARY: The Senior QA/QC Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program within a designated group, division, or region. This role involves ensuring alignment with company programs and strategies that are consistent with the overall company objectives.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Partner with field operations to align goals and resources to integrate corporate QA/QC strategies in the assigned group/division/region’s business processes and practices.

• Provide technical and administrative direction to on-site QA/QC personnel; including staffing, orientation, training, development, and evaluation of QA/QC professionals with the concurrence of project/construction Management.

• Oversee group/divisional/regional compliance with corporate policies and strategies and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.

• Support field operations to effectively manage compliance with client and regulatory standards related to QA/QC.

• Develop group/divisional/regional initiatives based on corporate company strategies that encourage sustainable QA/QC programs and practices.

• Review and implement QMS certification activities.

• Periodically visit with client QA/QC Management to promote feedback and resolve potential issues.

• Coordinate and conduct periodic audits to assess QA/QC performance on projects in the assigned group/division/region.

• Collect and organize audit data for and participate in management reviews to resolve issues and identify trends

. • Prepare QA/QC-related input (QA/QC Plans, etc.) for bid proposals and support operational project planning

. • Implement and maintain group/division/regional employee training programs in support of strategic and tactical goals

. • Support QA/QC metrics for the assigned group/region/division by establishing baselines, tracking performance, and reporting progress to site, group/division/region, and corporate management.

• Provide guidance and direction to QA/QC management personnel to promote compliance and consistency of project QA/QC activities, including Field Execution Meetings, Project QA/QC Plans, and QA/QC initiatives. Make recommendations to control or eliminate QA/QC issues at the project level.

• Ensure timely and complete root-cause analysis of QA/QC issues by the line organization and track timely close out of corrective actions.

• Support continuous improvement process to assess QA/QC issues, their root causes, and the effectiveness of corrective actions implemented.

• Attend Project QA/QC Kick-Off Meetings and participate in Project QA/QC team meetings.

• Support corporate QA/QC requirements for company subcontractors and promote relationships with key group/divisional/regional subcontractors to maintain consistent QA/QC standards.

• Proactively support corporate QA/QC risk management efforts including Project Risk Assessments.

• Periodically perform the budget review and maintain cost control to support the goals of the group/division/region and QA/QC Director. • Attend and participate in initial orientation and ongoing job-specific QA/QC training including but not limited to; project-specific processes, procedures, documents, and company Quality Management System (QMS) and objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred. (Significant additional QA/QC management experience in a leadership role may be considered instead of a degree.)

• 5 or more years of experience in QA/QC management.

• Outstanding knowledge of QA/QC standards and practices in the construction industry.

• Demonstrated management skills and experience. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

• Wide experience and knowledge of Quality Management Systems and industry practices is critical.

• Advanced knowledge of construction and/or industrial Quality Codes and standards requirements.

• Ability to investigate/analyze critical situations professionally.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to positively influence behaviors.

• Proficiency with standard office software. Proficiency in database management, spreadsheet management, project and presentation software • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; capable of effectively presenting to audiences, large and small.

• Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing environments and new challenges.

• Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

• Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and strengthen the QA/QC culture.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and coordinate multiple activities that are moderately to highly complex.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with possible exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and all types of weather and temperature conditions. Occasional or frequent air travel with overnight stays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.

• Frequent climbing stairs/ladders, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.

• Occasional work on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures.

• Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents.

• Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common construction environment auditory stimuli.

• Lifting and/or exerting force up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of lifting/force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of lifting/force constantly to move objects.

• Frequent driving of motor vehicles.
