Job description

ARA’s Southern Division is seeking a Senior Protection Design Engineer with a minimum of 5-7 years of design experience for our Vicksburg, MS office. The position involves performing simple to complex structural analysis and design, from basic static design to dynamic, non-linear analysis using finite element and single and multiple degree of freedom methods. Specific duties include working with engineer teams to perform both static and dynamic structural analysis for extreme events, prepare calculation packages, technical reports of analysis and design recommendations. Travel may be involved to collect site-specific information, participate in testing depending on project requirements, and interact with existing clients as well as developing business with new clients and markets. Candidates must be independent; self motivated; and have excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills. An interest in project management and business development is preferred.

Experience

Required
  • 5 - 7 years: Experience with finite element methods.
  • 5 - 7 years: Experience in analysis/design including dynamic, non-linear structural analysis and 3-D modeling.
Preferred
  • 5 - 7 years: Interest/experience in project management and business development.

Education

Required
  • Bachelor of Science or better in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Bachelor of Science or better in Structural Engineering or related field
  • Bachelor of Science or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Doctorate or better
  • Masters or better
