Position Responsibilities
The PM will have primary ownership of the project deliverables assigned to project team and will provide day-to-day direction to the project team. They will be responsible for developing the detailed project schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed and delivering the project within the financial parameters set forth in the Statement of Work including any approved scope changes and communicating the project status to the stakeholders and successfully delivering the project in accordance with the prescribed methodology.
The PM must be able to manage a portfolio of projects from kick-off through post Go-Live support phases. Analytical and technical thinking across multiple areas of responsibility with an understanding of their role and its impact on business results.
The PM will also be the prime spokesperson to management on project related matters, both internally and externally. Identifies and resolves project issues promptly. Provide analytical and technical thinking across multiple areas of responsibility with an understanding of their role and its impact on business results with high complexity and risk, communication planning, integration with moderate to significant scope changes.
Additionally, the Project Manager will need to drive the development, implementation and manage PMO Governance, processes and procedures with Deltek’s DGC PMO.
Key Duties:
- Lead all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Integrate with all levels of the client organization (C Suite, VPs, PMs, Technical Leads, etc.)
- Communicate changes to appropriate parties.
- Track progress towards achievement of project goals
- Allocate resources where necessary to implement solutions and to resolve problems.
- Coordinate with different teams.
- Assist in defining project scope and objectives.
- Coordinate with resource planning to schedule and allocate resources.
- Develop detailed project plans and work schedules for individual consultants and development resources.
- Monitor project activities and identify any open issues/risks in each of the phases proactively.
- Provide methodology guidance and tailoring for implementation approach.
- Assist project team in understanding the implementation approach.
- Defining project deliverables and critical target milestone dates
- Maintain the issue list and prioritize issue resolution.
- Assist consultants and individual teams in executing activities and producing deliverables.
- Establish and monitor compliance with standards for documentation, data, and training.
- Monitor and schedule phase activities.
- Drive the cutover plan.
Qualifications
- B.S., Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- PMP certification a plus
- 10+ years’ experience in the implementation of Project Management and software development life cycle methodologies including waterfall and agile.
- A minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience on completion of full lifecycle ERP implementations.
- Ability to manage enterprise level projects as well as portfolio of 10+ projects in various lifecycle phases.
- Ability to summarize information, tailor communication style and content for different stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience managing projects with remote teams.
- Must be able to build relationships with remote stakeholders.
- Possesses confidence with navigating an escalation process.
- Skilled in building trusted relationships with team members and project leaders (both local and remote).
- Experience assessing, organizing, and managing priorities within an organization.
- Ability to travel up to 20%
