Position Overview:
The Senior Project Manager leads the Project Management Office (PMO) and critical projects across the organization through the use of established project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet internal and external customer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, budget, and timeline issues appropriately.
- Responsible for managing key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
- Leads project team communications across all areas of the organization, including regular project status updates to various staff, management, executive, and Board stakeholders.
- Collaborates with senior management and stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing new business processes or information technology to achieve the goals of the organization.
- Recommends optimizations to business strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
- Able to lead business process optimization and information technology projects.
- Engage in customer relationship management with internal project sponsors and stakeholders, building excellent relationships across all areas of the organization.
- Maintains necessary certifications; reviews professional publications; establishes personal networks; benchmarks state-of-the-art practices; participates in professional societies.
- Responsible for management of a portfolio of large and medium projects of moderate to high complexity.
- Leads the PMO in managing the prioritized portfolio of projects and establishes standard project management processes and tools for use across the organization.
- Mentors project leaders and project management staff.
Qualifications:
Experience/Education/Certifications
- 7 to 10 years of experience managing projects, with at least 3 years managing project portfolios or highly complex projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (PMI-ACP and/or Master’s Certification in Project Management preferred).
- Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training/experience, leading both business and technology projects.
- Detail oriented with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
Communication:
- A positive, forward-looking approach directed to overcoming obstacles and “get to yes”.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form, and to distill complex matters into clearly understood and articulated action steps.
- Ability to document workflow and procedures. Ability to write accurate, clear and organized communications, incorporating a range of information and analysis.

Locus prefers applicants from East Coast states where business relationships have already been established, they include: Virginia, New York, Florida, New Jersey, West Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Considerations may be given to candidates from other established states such as Nebraska, Colorado, Montana, Kansas, Tennessee, and Missouri.

The salary range for the Senior Project Manager is $118,000 - $125,000
