Role description:

Arcadis is currently searching for a Senior Project Engineer - Fueling & Facilities with 10-15 years of experience, to join our engineering team serving all 7 Class I freight railroads in North America.  Arcadis is leader in railroad fueling and facilities engineering. This is a very exciting opportunity for a Sr. Project Engineer to become a leader in our growing team, work directly with our Rail clients and immediately make a clear difference for our clients, our team, and their career.   The position has tremendous growth opportunity for the Sr. Project Engineer that is or would like to expand their Project Management and Client Development (Seller/Doer) career.  Location is flexible. 

Our team works with clients to achieve business objectives by creating and implementing innovative and effective solutions using state-of-the-art practices and technologies. This position is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual with strong communication skills and the initiative to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts. The successful applicant will utilize their experience and expertise to successfully lead the design and implementation of industrial wastewater and facilities engineering projects for our Rail clients throughout North America. 

Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Leading and performing the development of industrial wastewater & Facilities projects as a Project Engineer, leveraging the candidate's experience in, industrial wastewater and facilities engineering (industrial wastewater treatment plants, oil / water separators, and collection systems) including investigations, studies, analysis, designs, and construction administration services.
  • Leading and managing the planning, design, and construction administration of projects to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as Arcadis quality and safety practices.
  • Leading and communicating with project teams, establishing goals and objectives, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.
  • Providing technical expertise on multi-disciplined projects as design leader.
  • Proficient at the development of detailed plans and specifications.
  • Leading, Supervising and supporting the work of others while mentoring junior level technical staff.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 10 years of relevant water/wastewater and/or Facilities experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or a related field of study.
  • EIT
  • Strong Project Engineering experience including at least 5 years of demonstrated experience leading small to large sized, multi-disciplined, water and wastewater or facilities Engineering projects.
  • Construction management experience including at least 3 months on site observation as the Resident Engineer for a project at a railyard.
  • Strong team leadership experience including technically leading overall project delivery expectations, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience
  • Professional Engineer
  • Master's degree in Civil or Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or a related field of study

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. The salary range for this position is $87,600.00 - $131,400.00.
