Form of workWe are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Senior Program Specialist within the DuPage County Workforce Development Division. The workNet DuPage Career Center is funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and provides an extensive range of services to both job seekers and employers. Job seeker services include grants for job training programs, job search workshops, career counseling, a job search resource center, and more.
These are grant funded positions.

Responsibilities include:- Conducts complex assessments of job seekers with barriers to employment, develops individual job search goals and employment plans, and performs ongoing case management
- Oversees target population initiatives and other special projects including administering services funded through WIOA or other grants, developing partnerships or employer relationships, etc.
- Facilitates workshops, orientations or other programming for the center and/or special populations
- Makes recommendations to Workforce Development Manager on updates to policies, procedures, forms, and the development of best practices
- Acts as liaison between Training Services and Employment Services teams to facilitate job seeker-employer connections
- Assists Workforce Development Manager with internal monitoring/file review as necessary to ensure compliance with federal guidelines
- Provides general staff assistance in the absence or unavailability of the Workforce Development Manager
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements include the following experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Education, Business or related field
- Three (3) years of related professional experience in Employment and Training programs
- Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois Driver's License
Experience performing WIOA case management and/or grant management; experience serving special populations such as justice-impacted individuals, English Language Learners, homeless individuals, individuals with disabilities including mental health challenges, young adults, etc.; experience facilitating group sessions, workshops, orientations, etc.
