Job Description
I. Job Summary |Major goals
The Senior Production Manager is responsible for all facets of the print production process on Dotdash Meredith's third-party accounts and internal Custom work. He/she will manage all aspects of print and mailing programs and perform cost/financials analysis on assigned accounts. Direct suppliers and issue instructions to print facilities to ensure the production of each issue is free of defect and is delivered per the established schedules and within the allotted budget parameters. Provide creative solutions to print production programs and identify and implement cost containment initiatives to improve final product. The print programs will be assigned to the manager, at the discretion of the Executive Director for Custom Print. The manager will work closely with internal teams, clients, advertisers, and vendor partners. Upon completion of the program, the manager will ensure the vendor invoice was received, processed and met budget guidelines. Develop and implement production alternatives and procedure changes which reduce/avoid cost, mitigate risk, and/or improve resource efficiency. Complete any required reporting for management dashboards, scorecards, etc. Participate on special projects and complete other required tasks as assigned.
II. Essential Job Functions|Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

• Works closely with internal and external customers (account managers, sales, editors, creative, etc.) to ensure successful production of all print components and mailing activity. Issues accurate and concise print and mailing instructions. Provides external and internal customer service in a professional and courteous manner that leaves the customer happy and the assigned work efficient and profitable.
• Manage print suppliers and to ensure they are meeting and/or exceeding performance criteria for print production including print quality, timely deliver, and superior customer service.
• Provides quotes and accurate pricing as requested. Oversees forecast, budget, and analyze production costs of assigned accounts. Purchases all materials needed to produce requested product. Monitor receipt and accurate payment of vendor invoices.
• Participates in special projects and assist Custom Print group as needed.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements |All must be met to be considered.
Education
• College graduate. Experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
Experience
• 5+ years total experience in magazine operations or production, marketing, or printing.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Analytical and problem-solving skills. Good mathematical aptitude. Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel, PowerPoint, and PubStudio, Book make-up and AdShuttle. Able to set and meet priorities. Perform well under pressure and be able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Must be able to communicate with all levels of management, clients, and vendors.
