The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Senior Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading change management as it relates to product design changes driven by product/quality improvement, supply changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction.
- Leading and supporting cross functional product improvement projects leveraging Agile methodologies that will enable accelerated business growth and further our competitive position in the marketplace.
- Assisting with complaint resolution and reduction projects as needed. Using root cause analysis to identify failure modes
- Maintaining product design documentation in compliance with MSD Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other regulatory requirements.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical and/or Software Engineering field (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of experience with hardware Product Engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Strong, demonstrated use of project management techniques to lead cross functional teams in projects that drive improvement and proven results
- History of effective execution of change management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
- Statistical knowledge and practice [e.g. Design of Experiments (DOE), Sampling Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), PPU, and Lean Six Sigma]
- Experience working with suppliers.
- Experience with Medical Device Product Development/Engineering
- Familiarity with applicable/relevant product development and safety standards (ISO/IEC/UL/etc.)
