The Senior Product Development Engineer is a hybrid role in Durham, NC and will report to the Senior Manager R&D and Site Leader – Durham. This role will be a key part of transforming surgeons’ experience from an analog world of visualizing surgical intervention to an information rich, digital experience that provides real time surgical insights and guidance improving surgeon workflow and patient outcomes. This is a high visibility opportunity for an associate that is looking to advance within the company either within Research & Development or other business management opportunities.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will develop real time imaging platforms that turn information into visualization

  • You will take an active role throughout the full product lifecycle from concept development through product sustainment.

  • You will be the technical product owner responsible for requirements development, translating requirements into a prioritized backlog, and verifying performance

  • You will engage with key customers and collaboration partners as we develop solutions to improve surgical outcomes

YOUR PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following capabilities, experience and qualities:

  • BS Degree in engineering, physics or related technical discipline

  • 5+ years of experience developing sensing platforms and image processing algorithms

  • Experience with one or more of the following imaging techniques: optical coherence tomography, Biomedical Imaging, spectral imaging, adaptive optics or compressive sensing

  • Systems engineering experience creating product requirement, verification, validation and design transfer activities of opto-mechanical systems

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following for instrument control and test fixture development: Labview, C, C++ or similar language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree

  • Product owner experience developing and prioritizing user story backlogs
