Salary range for this position is: $69,155/yr. - $95,499/yr. (depending on experience)

As a Billing Analyst, you will be responsible for being a key member of the team that ensures contract, leases, and other external revenue is billed correctly in order to support college operations. In this role, you will work with billing departments, create, reconcile, and track invoices, and coordinate payments with external customers and internal Accounts Receivable.
The Billing Analyst is an integral part of the Campus Business Office and the District Finance Office. These offices provide administrative and financial support to the college and strive to make it easier for all college staff to support student success.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-SPS Pro.

What you will be working on:

  • Coordinate and assist in the development of the auxiliary services revenue budgets and billings.
  • Coordinate revenue budget analysis for the colleges, budget and project managers for fee codes and contracts.
  • Performs fiscal duties such as financial report analysis; account payable-receivable discrepancy resolution, etc; monitor, review, prepare, reconcile, and/or approve expenditure documents.
  • Work closely with district and college personnel to reconcile account balances.
  • Prepares fiscal year end closing adjustments and accrual journal vouchers.
  • Reviews, analyzes and audits receipts and disbursement of funds received.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field. Or eight (8) years of experience performing accounting, fiscal analysis and budgeting in the Washington State Community College system which may substitute for a degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, priorities, and meet deadlines; to accurately perform complex mathematical and statistical calculations; to perform assigned duties consistent with applicable laws and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office products for fiscal and statistical, presentations and report generation.
  • Documented, excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Documented evidence of skills as a self-motivator.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong background in financial systems.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills that allows effective communication with employees across the college and district

Physical Requirements:
The Position

  • Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to Perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
  • Encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  • Is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
