Job description

About ProbablyMonsters' Battle Barge Team
Our mission is to create boundless adventures that bring people together. We believe shared experiences build connections and give us a sense of belonging. By involving players in our development process, we build richer and more vibrant worlds that become welcoming places for everyone to gather. We are currently working on an unannounced, original AAA Co-op RPG and warmly welcome those ready to take on new challenges and grow in a highly collaborative and supportive team environment.
THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Senior Producer who is experienced in driving, organizing, and aligning cross-disciplined teams around efficient Live game development. An ideal candidate is someone who can work independently and effectively with teammates in the studio and across partner teams, can think broadly about the product strategic needs as well as narrowly on near-term tactical project priorities, and is flexible to adapt their approaches and processes to fit the unique needs of our studio and game.
WHO YOU ARE:
  • You are excited about helping others find the processes that work best for them. You love working on refining processes to help others succeed in what they do.
  • You believe that learning is a pillar to any effective team, frequently experimenting on how to improve and never getting stuck on a specific way of doing things if others propose alternatives.
  • You are experienced in working with a broad range of individuals and can effectively manage conflict & misalignment to build a shared view of the way forward.
  • You can draw complex information from teammates to forecast where we're heading, spot trouble that might arrive, and help the team address it.
  • You care about diverse perspectives, seek feedback often, and are an active listener. You champion great organization and communication skills to help the broader team stay aligned.
  • You believe video games are a great way for people to stay connected and can empathize with players who want to play games together.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Driving, organizing, and aligning studio processes, team organization, and scale approach around our Live game development model.
  • Partnering across PM to build out capabilities and processes to successfully co-develop game features with other game studios.
  • Working with teams within the studio to help improve how we plan, track work, and manage risks around our Live Readiness and Community focus areas.
  • Working with the team to help improve how we track and plan near-term work across the studio, with an emphasis on empowering team members to plan their work.
  • Coordinate dependency planning across studio & partner teams, identifying gaps and risks to help build mitigations to avoid impacting project dates.
  • Discuss and document details around how a feature will be implemented, to better understand requirements, dependencies, and timing of work.
  • Proactively identify development process inefficiencies and propose improvements, working across the studio & partner teams to get feedback and build alignment on changes.
  • Championing Quality as part of feature development, always ensuring QA has a voice at the table.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related game development experience.
  • Experience shipping games on multiple platforms end-to-end (e.g., Xbox, PlayStation, PC).
  • Experience supporting Live games with a Live-Ops or Games as a Service development model.
  • Advanced level understanding of the development methodologies of games such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall.
  • Advanced level knowledge with project tracking software such as, but not limited to, Jira, Azure Dev Ops or Hansoft.
  • Experience building out capacity plans, forecasting projections and updating schedules/roadmaps for cross-discipline game features and/or projects (e.g. Excel, Project).
  • Effective at communicating, both written and verbally, with a wide variety of people and skill sets both inside and outside of the development studio while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Formal education in project management or Agile certification/training.
  • Experience working with co-development studios on feature development.
  • Experience working with Community Managers to support Live game communities.
