Engineer and develop layouts of plant tooling and equipment installation for 6, 9 and 10 speed transmission and electric drive unit (DU) gear manufacturing processes, current and new tooling designs, and evaluation of workstation ergonomics and Human Machine Interface (HMI), at Toledo Propulsion Systems (TTO) Toledo, OH, Romulus Propulsion Systems (RTO) Romulus, MI, Silao Transmission Operations (STO) Silao, Mexico, and San Luis Potosi Transmission Operations (SLP) transmission plants to produce gears in high volume manufacturing plant environments. Analyze, update and maintain Bill of Process (BOP) and Bill of Equipment (BOE) documents for designated processes including gear hobbing, internal gear broaching, hard turning, laser welding, gear skiving, vertical internal diameter honing, horizontal honing, gear face grinding, gears tooth honing, gears tooth grinding, gears washing, automation, and robotics. Engineer and optimize manufacturing processes including machining equipment and cutting tools, computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines, and error proofing systems. Required travel in MI and Mexico to monitor and assess installation of machinery and equipment at GM transmission plants up to ~109 days per year (equal to ~30% annual travel).                                                                                                                                   

Additional Description

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and two (2) years of experience as an Engineer or related role. Must also have experience with: analyzing and maintaining Bill of Process (BOP) and Bill of Equipment (BOE) documents for processes including gear hobbing, broaching, gear skiving, gears tooth honing and gears tooth grinding.
