BAE Systems is looking for an experienced, Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to modernize a 30 year old Program of Record Targeting Application, Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT). The candidate should enjoy building RESTful applications using Java and React from the ground up. The candidate is passionate about DevOps and working in the cloud. The goal of the modernized application is two-fold: re-architect the back end with modern architecture as well as modernize the UI using a UX software design approach which engages the targeting user community. The candidate will help guide the re-architecture of the JTT application. Candidate will work both in person and remotely with a team of software and systems engineers in an Agile environment.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical discipline and 8+ year(s) related experience
- US Citizenship with an active Secret clearance is required
- Proficiency with Java and JavaScript
- Experience developing RESTful services using Spring, Java, or JSON
- Has a test driven mindset and is familiar with testing tools such as JUnit and Mockito
- Enjoy architecting RESTful backend services and building modern UI applications
- Ability to innovate, evaluate and research new technologies while staying abreast of industry trends
- Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities
- The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical lead to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Highly motivated and able to work well in both team and solo settings
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Hold a Secret, Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Experience with Agile software development
- Understanding of Java Spring Micro-Services using 12 Factor design principles
- Experience with full-stack development (Java, .NET, and/or C++)
- Experience using relational databases including SQL and ORM frameworks such as hibernate
- Understanding of UI methodologies such as AJAX and Single Page Applications
- Experience with Chrome/Firefox debugger
- Experience with Cloud computing (AWS and/or Azure)
- Experience designing and developing high level software architectures
- Security+ Certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $122870 - $208890
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
