Summary
The Distributions Operations Technology Services team is looking for a Sr. Principal Application developer to support distribution operations technology including the architecture, development, and support of the ADMS system including OSI Monarch ADMS dSCADA, DERMS, and VVMS as well as other .NET applications and integrations.
This position will provide thought leadership and perform duties related to the architecture, design, build, test and deployment of software solutions. The position will recommend solutions, promote adoption of development best practices, research and propose architectural improvements, and provide fixes to daily operational issues encountered by the users of Business Unit Applications. Additionally, the Principal App Developer position will spearhead critical and complicated projects, coordinate with external teams, and facilitate team skill building and knowledge sharing as well as provide mentorship to other members of the team.
The team provides 24/7 operational support for applications used by the Distribution Operations department including the outage Management System and Distribution SCADA, being on call is a requirement.
What You'll Do
  • Provide advanced architectural guidance and oversight for the development of complex applications.
  • Leverage extensive experience to design scalable, high-performance, and resilient application solutions.
  • Lead discussions and collaborate with various stakeholders, gathering requirements and providing expert insights.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers contributing to their skill development.
  • Offer high-level technical leadership in areas such as software development, database architecture, and system integration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in application architecture, influencing strategic decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of .NET technologies, including C#, ASP.NET, and others. Performs as a staff consultant for SRP in an IT specialty type of software or hardware or a program function in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and processes.
  • Acts as a solution architect for information and operational technology solutions serving distribution operations.
  • Maintains liaison with individuals and units within or outside ITS with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters.
  • Provide expertise on OSI Monarch ADMS systems and subsystem architecture and integration.
  • Software Development, Database Administration, Data Warehouse Analysis, Systems Programming, Network Engineering, Data Storage, or Unified Communications & Messaging require a significant knowledge of multiple IT functions.

What It Takes To Succeed
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing complex application architectures.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with experience guiding development teams.
- In-depth knowledge of software development, database administration, and system integration.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience
A minimum of 14 years professional experience in related field plus professional recognition.
Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree plus an additional 36 graduate level college semester hours from an accredited institution in an area of specialty.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
