This Opportunity
FPA is currently searching for a full-time Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Designerat our Headquarters in Wall Township, NJ.
As a member of FPA’s Marketing Department, you will be part of a dynamic team of industry professionals, operating in a fast-paced, competitive environment. The ideal candidate will be able to integrate quickly with the team and provide detail-oriented and organized support to aid the department’s on-going activities and pursuits. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing.
Core Responsibilities
- Storm drainage system design including associated equipment, specialties, and pipe sizing.
- Natural gas system design including associated equipment, specialties, and pipe sizing.
- Sprinkler system design including associated equipment, specialties, and pipe sizing (Fire pump, special service pump and clean agent system experience is preferred).
- Existing conditions surveying
- Construction administration services including submittal review, RFI response and field observation reporting.
- Develops/designs solutions for a variety of technical problems of minor to moderate scope and complexity across the plumbing/Fire Protection engineering discipline.
- Develops specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of engineering production software including AutoCAD, MS Office, etc.
- Revit proficiency is preferred.
- Familiarity with New Jersey, New York City building Codes.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards
- BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent is Preferred but not required.
- Certified Plumbing Design (CPD) Certification is preferred.
- Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) Certification is preferred.
- HASS (Hydraulic Analyzer of Sprinkler System) software proficiency, or similar
- 10 years related project experience
