Senior Planner / Scheduler - Heavy Civil (Onsite)

Responsibilities

The Senior Planner / Scheduler - Heavy Civil (Onsite) will lead scheduling efforts on the project and work closely with our preconstruction, project management, and field teams as well as with subcontractors and owners' representatives to aid in the development and management of project schedules to ensure the success of our projects.

 

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Develop resource and cost loaded schedule, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the project.
• Provide mentorship and oversight of junior schedulers & interns / co-ops
• Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations, available manpower, and resources.
• Provide scheduling analysis for delays and impacts to identify and mitigate project risk.
• Manage internal controls including implementing process controls, measuring project performance, reporting on project status, and ensuring the integrity and validity of internally and externally disseminated information.
• Apply knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks.
• Accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting.
• Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems.
• Collect project progress and update project status.
• May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports as needed.
• Travel and/or relocation may be necessary depending on the project needs and location. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred (technical training and related experience may be considered in lieu of).
• Minimum of 3 years working in construction scheduling.
• Heavy Civil project experience preferred.
• PSP certification preferred
• Primavera (P6) scheduling preferred.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management System.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Computer proficient and the ability to adapt to new innovations and processes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
