Job Title:Senior Physical Safety Consultant
Location: San Jose, CA or Alameda, CA
About the role:
BSI Consulting Services is seeking an experienced Senior Physical Safety Consultantin the Northern California Bay Area. We are looking for Safety leaders who want to join the BSI family. Expectations include a passion for management of projects, manage and mentor staff, and provide exceptional service to clients. This exciting position has niche technical consulting responsibilities, so we are looking for a unique individual who has technical EHS&S expertise in Physical Safety Consulting. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record with 10-15 yrs. of safety consulting experience.
Responsibilities:

• Work on complex safety projects reviewing design drawings and providing feedback on design for safety for new construction and tool installation for our clients
• Develop and implement safety programs including hazardous energy control, confined space, fall protection, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, Injury and Illness Prevention Programs, etc.
• Work with cross functional engineering teams to manage risk
• Work effectively to integrate EHS into the fabric and culture of clients. Leverage the safety and health program to build morale and increase productivity of the employees and the operation. Builds effective working relationships with onsite teams, subcontractors and vendors onsite.
• Performs project management and internal customer management for multiple large clients and help organize staff schedules
• Work with the business development team to participate in introductory meetings specifically with clients with safety needs as a technical expert
• Develops opportunities, including estimating work scope and price, writing proposals, following up on contacts and meetings, writing blog posts and white papers, and participates on local association boards.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Overall understanding and experience in Physical Safety. Semi-Conductor, pharmaceuticals and/or high tech experience is a plus
• Undergraduate degree in EHS or related field; Master's degree is a plus
• 10-15 + years of related experience, preferably in a consulting firm. Safety, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience is a plus.
• Comfortable working with cross-functional business streams and executive level stakeholders
• Ability to gather and analyze complex data groups to develop actionable solutions along with ability to present the information.
• Ability to read schematics, design plans, floor plans
• Skills to build workable project plans that include project scope
• Staff management skills

The salary for this position can range from $120k to $140k annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
