At Weyerhaeuser, our dynamic Payroll Services team maintains payrolling services for thousands of active Weyerhaeuser employees as well as retirees in both the U.S. and Canada. By utilizing PeopleSoft payroll and time keeping system, the team drives operational excellence and precision.
We're looking for a skillful and meticulous Senior Payroll Analyst to contribute to the team's continued success. This position will be responsible for executing a variety or multi-state payroll functions; as well as ensure payroll is processed with speed, precision and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Functions
  • Serve as subject matter expert for US and Canadian Payroll with responsibility on payroll projects, new acquisitions, and ensuring payroll compliance.
  • This position will require working closely with business operations, IT, HR, and vendors to support existing systems, including developing and implementing new solutions as part of ongoing support as well as new implementations.
  • Must be familiar with applicable laws at the state, federal, and provincial levels in order to ensure that system functionality and existing payroll procedures are compliant.
  • This position will share Payroll Tax filling and reporting responsibilities with the Tax Specialist and should have a good understanding of Payroll tax regulations for US and Canada.
  • Lead non-qualified and equity plans payment administration.
  • Lead Year End Process for US and Canada (shares with Payroll Analyst).
  • Serve as process improvement champion to identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Acting as the liaison between Payroll and IT, the Analyst will capture business requirements and provide technical specifications for improvements and enhancements.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of system solutions that support payroll business process.
  • Work closely with technical departments to implement process improvements, test system changes, and lead special projects within the payroll department.
  • Develop and rollout Payroll Department job aides and training materials for managers and employees.
  • Support internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external and internal auditors.
  • Assist payroll accounting team with researching and resolving accounting variances resulting from Payroll Transmit.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline required.
  • CPP certification or current commitment to obtain it is required.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in a Senior Payroll position is required.
  • Previous work experience in a large publicly traded company is preferred.
  • HCM system implementation experience is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in Shared Services Organization is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel level, proficient with all other Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate technical information effectively with all levels of management.
  • Experience leading projects or initiatives.
Location: Hybrid based out of our Seattle Headquarters.
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $77,200 to $115,900 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees may enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
