Job Description
1.0 Purpose
This position is responsible for overseeing and directing manufacturing functions. This position is accountable for operational performance of manufacturing locations within the company.
2.0 Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Lead the continued transformation of operations to a world class lean manufacturing culture
- Creation and implementation of the Adams Production System using various modern tools as appropriate in order to support continuous improvement in areas such as safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and scrap.
- Sustains and administers continuous improvement activities that will drive lean methodologies
- Experienced strategic planner with qualitative and quantifiable results
- A visionary leader that exemplifies company values and ensures company strategic goals are understood and met by all team members. Motivates and empowers the team.
- Develops staff and organization with vision to support future company goals and objectives
- Committed to the values of ATS
3.0 Reporting Structure
The Senior Operations Manager reports directly to the CEO
4.0 Required Skills / Experience(s) / Education / Certification
- Undergraduate (BA/BS) degree is required with an ME/IE and advanced technical or MBA degree preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years in an automotive or Tier 1 Supplier manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in an operations leadership role is preferred.
- Metals or automotive industry/manufacturing process experience is highly preferred
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding operational objectives and metrics
- Demonstrated leadership skill and strong business acumen are required
- Self-starter, detail oriented
- Must present self as a role model to demonstrate high standards of performance and personal integrity.
- Financial Management, Process Management and Project Management skills and abilities with demonstrated success.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, lean manufacturing or Toyota Production System (TPS) including deployment preferred
- Must support team processes and the empowerment of people at all levels of the organization through training and education, and through management practices that reinforce individual responsibility and accountability.
