Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Position Summary:
Administer and maintain a wired and wireless Closed Restricted Network (CRN) consisting of hardware/software-based routing and switching infrastructure and VMware based compute environment. Optimize network performance and address network problems and breakdowns associated with the CRN. Collaborate with vendors, managers, network support personnel, and Government Clients for future CRN deployment and updates. Plan, build, and deploy all configurations associated with a VMware vSphere environment including creating virtual machines, updating vCenter/ESXi hosts, and troubleshooting connectivity issues related to virtual switches and port groups. Plan, build, and deploy all configurations applicable to a carrier ethernet switching network hardware components, including integrating existing outside networks into a cohesive client environment. Oversee all hardening of VMware vCenter, VMware ESXi hosts, and Windows/Linux operating systems to conform with all applicable regulations from DoD and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This includes but is not limited to Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs). Provide expert technical knowledge as part of team and/or update documentation related to RMF accreditation process of an Army Program of Record. This includes artifacts to include, but not limited to, the System Security Plan (SSP), Configuration Management Plan (CMP), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), and etc. Complete annual FISMA requirements to include: updating hardware/software lists, create/update STIG checklist, and conduct vulnerability scans utilizing Nessus, SCAP, and Evaluate-STIG. Work with the local O-ISSM to add/close/update POA&M items within eMASS.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in related field
- Minimum 15 years of related experience
- Knowledge of VMware ESXi and vCenter operations
- Experience with virtualization concepts and functional working skills with various virtualization technologies (create/modify virtual machines, snapshots, clone/export, etc.)
- Working knowledge of network protocols such as Multicast, RIP, IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, and VLANs
- Extensive knowledge of administering both Windows and Linux operating systems
- Working knowledge of Cisco switching and routing operations
- CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent IAW with DoD 8140 (DoD 8570.01)
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with patching virtual infrastructure (VMware vCenter/ESXi hosts)
- Experience in applying DoD STIGs as related to virtual infrastructure
- Knowledge of the RMF process, NIST security controls, and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
- Familiar with wireless network components and Radio Frequency (RF) fundamentals
- Familiar with 4G LTE / 5G NR technologies and network operations
- Working knowledge of Android operating system and Android Studio software and tools.
