```Job Summary```
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Consultant to join our team. As a Senior Native American Accounting Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert financial guidance and support to our Native American Tribal clients. The position reports to the Director of Native American Consulting and will be responsible for developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the Ulrich services, which includes providing training, policy and procedure development, accounting assistance and related fiscal managements services. Your expertise in governmental accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, financial management, financial statement preparation, LIHTC, regulatory reporting, debits credits, technical accounting, wills trusts estate law, and SOX compliance will be essential in this role.
```Responsibilities```
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to clients
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Assist Triabel clients with complex accounting issues and provide technical guidance
- Perform detailed reviews of Tribal client's financial records and transactions
-Assist in preparation and negotiation of client indirect cost rates
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and reporting standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies
- Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations
```Skills```
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and financial management
- Experience in preparing financial statements and conducting audits
- Highly organized: strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through required, proven ability to multi-task and plan, organize and manage multiple projects.
- Expertise in regulatory reporting requirements
- Solid understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger reconciliation
- Ability to apply technical accounting principles to complex transactions
- Knowledge of wills, trusts, and estate law is a plus
-Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting or economics preferred
-Certified Public Account or other professional accounting designation (preferred, not required)
-5 or more years of experience in accounting and/or auditing
