Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated mastery and implementation of the 12 principles of animation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe After Effects
  • Demonstrated mastery of design and layout
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling stories and motion through motion graphics
  • Demonstrated ability in managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability in character rigging and character-based motion graphics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in 3D animation
  • Demonstrated ability in art direction
  • Digital portfolio or website
  • Demonstrated ability mentoring and leading teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of motion design experience
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Cinema 4D

Job Summary
As a Senior Motion Designer, you'll create and execute on motion graphics and animated content. In this role, you are executing work at a high level and also working to mentor and develop the motion graphics team along the way. In this role, you may pitch, develop and create your own work from scratch, or work based on boards or concepts given to you. The span of work varies greatly from end cards to fully animated explainer videos, commercials and more. The Senior Motion Graphics designer is an expert in implementing animation principles and is skilled in multiple specialties and styles.
Responsibilities
  • Make technical and creative decisions regarding elements, such as appropriate movements, typography and aesthetics for many different types of video projects
  • Manage animation workflow, media management, archiving and delivery of motion elements and projects
  • Assist in creating end cards, lower thirds or supporting graphics
  • Monitor the technical and creative quality of end products
  • Act as a team mentor by standardizing workflows, finding efficiencies and pushing for better work
  • Stay current on industry trends and share best practices with the team
  • Act as a thought leader by continually identifying and finding solutions for areas of opportunity in the team
  • Maintain regular mentor and/or training sessions to ensure the team is developing new skillsets
  • Work in multiple motion graphics, animation and VFX specialties, including but not limited to, character animation, frame by frame, 2D and 3D animation, screen comping, sky replacement and retouching
  • Create, pitch and execute creative concepts
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, approvers and team members to ensure all goals are being met for the content
