Senior Metallurgical Engineer
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop, set-up and implement new or complementary (pyrometallurgical) processes in close co-ordination with local production management, local plant management as well as international innovation management.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Apply a hands-on mentality
- Analyze and improve efficiency for existing processes
- Ensure Energy Consumption Targets are met
- Evaluate new material stream for existing processing capabilities
- Develop new processing procedures and technology as needed
- Self-reliantly manage multiple internal and external project partners involved in the improvement or set up of processes.
- Report progress and findings on a regular basis to local as well as international management
- Ability and willingness to travel and implement findings in international Heraeus locations
What is required for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is required, Master's degree preferred
- 7-10 years' experience of Industrial Experience in an applicable field is preferred
- 3-5 years' experience managing a department or leading team projects preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and government officials.
- Ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with all levels within the organization. Excellent interpersonal skills required
