The Position
Manages & controls supply chain activities, policies & procedures for IFP. Ensures that internal customers have materials required, while continuously improving quality & cost. Maintains knowledge of production schedules & purchases materials in support of those schedules. Serves as a trainer & mentor to other Material Planners in the department. Functions as primary contact for inventory & purchasing related issues. Responsible for driving solutions & removing roadblocks for material purchasing & sourcing. Serves as liaison between IFP US Supply Chain, Sourcing Operations & Strategic Sourcing, as needed, to guarantee future delivery of product is delivered by Novo Nordisk to external customers & internal production demands are fulfilled.

Essential Functions
Forecast, plan & manage incoming supply chain processes & material requirements in order to meet production plans, optimize inventory levels & minimize risksEnsure all purchasing processes comply with cGMP requirements & meet corporate guidelines.Manage purchasing cycle, including generating requests for quotes & pricing, requisitions, purchase orders, delivery schedules, goods receipt & final paymentMonitor & track deliveries of materials & inventories to ensure the right materials are available at the right time to meet production plans & provide uninterrupted flow of materials & servicesManage change notifications from suppliers & manage change order activities related to master data creation & obsoleting of production materials with both internal stakeholders & suppliersMonitor & track expiration of materials to minimize write-offs & ensure sufficient inventory levels are available for productionPerform cost, price & risk analysis for raw materials, consumables & servicesManage & resolve pricing, quality & delivery issues with suppliersDrive continuous improvementIdentify & screen potential suppliers by researching parts, services & material availabilityEnsure the vendor approval process is optimized & follows corporate requirementsUpdate & ensure master data accuracy for all assigned materials to ensure that all supply chain ERP & reporting systems operate efficiently & accuratelyDevelop reporting tools & scorecard metrics related to vendor performance, inventory, purchasing & other departmental KPIs within the supply chain areaCreate & maintain department standard operating proceduresExecute change management & deviation investigation as requiredParticipate in & work with corporate Sourcing Operations & Strategic Sourcing for assigned commodities & conduct supplier site visits, change actions & investigations as requiredEvaluate potential suppliers on the basis of capability, performance, delivery & other key business criteriaCollaborate with Quality Control, Quality assurance & Warehouse for timely testing & release of materialsDocument & analyze input to vendor scorecards according to policies & procedures. Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Ability to do close precision work with their hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May required corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials.
Qualifications
BS/BA in supply chain management, business, or related field requiredProfessional Certification through APICS (CSCP or CPIM), ISM (CPSCM), or American Purchasing Society (CPP) preferredMinimum of eight (8) years of experience in planning/purchasing/inventory management or supply chain related field requiredProject management experience; experience working with cross-functional teams preferredExcellent verbal & written communication skills & presentation skills; ability to communicate across cultural barriers requiredProven process improvement & problem-solving skills requiredFamiliarity with SAP systems (BW, APO, ECC preferred) requiredMaterial planning in a cGMP manufacturing environment requiredAbility to work with production planning for forecasting materials for both short term & long-term horizons requiredAbility to support material sourcing & purchasing during for project timelines & commercial operations requiredExperience with vendor managed inventories requiredStrong knowledge of LEAN concepts & flow manufacturing & planning skills requiredStrong customer service skills requiredExperience with SOP development change management & deviation investigations within a cGMP environment required Good negotiation, communication, & collaboration skills preferredAbility to relate to people in a diverse & international environment preferredAbility to plan, coordinate & prioritize activities as well as handle numerous tasks simultaneously requiredLeadership: Builds strong working relationships.
