Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Issues and receives gaylord boxes, tapes, stretch films, bags, pallet sheets and corrugated boxes.
  • Maintains raw materials in a neat and organized fashion in the warehouse.
  • Inspects the gaylords before they are released to be used on production.
  • Monitors that regrind, colorants and all raw materials that are stored in gaylord boxes, tapes, stretch films, bags, pallet sheets and corrugated boxes are positioned in the production department in the correct location.
  • Reconciles the inventory counts of the above items with Syspro on a regular basis.
  • Reports the balance of corrugates and bags to the purchase manager, and advices when an item is low in quantity.
  • Monitors and reconciles PET rolls and PET regrind in a regular basis.
  • Performs the monthly cycle count.
  • Monitors gaylord boxed materials for proper usage in the production process. (Material hoppers are functioning properly and regrind is being consumed at the allowed rate. Material in regrind boxes are of good quality and being used at the correct line. Colorant levels are being consumed at normal levels.)
  • Advices production when any of the usage processes are not functioning properly.
  • Inspects each box of recycled material before receiving the material into the warehouse and into Syspro.
  • Monitors and process all of the recycled items.
  • Maintain the recycled gaylords in a separate area of the warehouse in a neat and orderly way.
  • Maintains trailers assigned to the scrap in a clean manner.
  • Keeps a log of all recycled materials in warehouse and alerts all involved parties in the process when a recycled material load is ready.
  • Keeps the PET segregated in a specified area of the warehouse.
  • Any “06” scrap warehouse items that are released for conversion to regrind will be tracked and have reconciliation counts taken by this person.
  • Keeps in close communication with the Materials Manager concerning any issues with usage, inventory irregularities or quality issues pertaining to all of the above items.
  • Any other non-listed task that may be required by the materials manager to improve the company efficiency.
  • Assigns the materials to be used on the next 24 hours. Classifies the materials to be used in designated staging areas.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE SKILLS

  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience using a forklift with the required security protocols (at least 2 years). Knowledge or experience on inventory tracking and warehouse logistics a plus. Experience using Syspro a plus.
  • Basic computer skills (email, word, excel) required.
  • Bilingual preferred. Ability to work independently.
  • Able to multitask, and work under pressure.
