ZF Transmissions Gray Court, LLC has a job opening for the position of Senior Manufacturing Engineer based out of its location in Gray Court, SC.
Job Duties: Responsible to lead complex projects for continuous improvement and upgrade of manufacturing equipment, including projects to troubleshoot/solve equipment errors; Ensure identification & implementation of changes for enhancing machine functionality; Analyze, plan, and validate workforce utilization, space and staffing requirements, workflow, and costs of production equipment; Design equipment layout and workspace for maximum efficiency; Confer with engineers & design staff re. product design & tooling to ensure efficient production methods; Validate development of product specification for purchase of equipment, materials, tooling, fixturing, parts, etc. per specifications & quality standards; Consult engineering team re. supplier selection for equipment, tooling, etc.; Perform equipment acceptance evaluation per specification; Mentor more junior Manufacturing Engineers; Analyze procedures, PFMEA’s, & workflows to meet industry standards; Apply knowledge of statistical methods & problem-solving technique; Analyze & estimate future manufacturing requirements to ensure quality of produced products meet customer requirements; Oversee projects for new and existing production programs using APQP & Lean principles to meet timing, budget, & performance; and Ensure production compliance with quality & environmental standards & requirements. Position requires up to 5% travel to ZF plants in the U.S. (e.g., to support continuous improvement of manufacturing lines and to validate equipment designs and applications) and to ZF in Germany (e.g., to attend workshops/meetings regarding new manufacturing lines to be installed in U.S. plants).
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related field, plus 5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering, process engineering, or related occupations, and demonstrated experience with: Leading technical projects; A3; 8D; SixSigma methodologies; Kanban; Lean supply chains; Standardized Work; PFMEA; SAP; SIMATIC; CEP; Minitab; QDAS – Procella; Axalant; MS Project; CREO / CAD; IQS; Shopfloor Management; and Customer Audit Process. We will accept experience acquired prior to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
