The Opportunity:

As Senior Manager, Retail Communications, you will help lead a team of communications professionals in delivering streamlined communications and learning content to support effective training, initiative implementation, and day-to-day business operations. Reporting to the Director, Retail Communications, you will develop and drive the evolution of content delivery and tools, work cross functionally with business partners to ensure information is tailored to the audience, lead and develop your team, and influence peers to improve the overall communications strategy for the store organization. In addition, you will:

  • Design and drive the store communications strategy and roadmap for the Retail department and stores in partnership with the Director, Retail Communications.
  • Lead Communications team members in delivering a comprehensive communication strategy for stores and retail leadership to ensure information and content is relevant, accurate, and supports strong execution.
  • Design best-in-class ‘storytelling’ to deliver content that fully engages and informs audiences and delivered through the most effective platforms.
  • Be responsible in partnership with Director, Retail Communications for setting store communication standards/templates and optimizing as needed; holds team and peers accountable to standards and ensures business partners are trained on standards accordingly.
  • In partnership with Director, Retail Communications and senior leadership, develop and implement key communications initiatives to support business objectives, store execution and KPI performance.
  • Embody a continuous improvement mindset and approach across all areas of communications responsibilities. Identifies gaps and opportunities in existing processes and leads team to proactively collaborate with business partners to design solutions.
  • Conduct content reviews and signoffs, ensuring messaging and content is clear, accurate and aligned with Sephora’s brand, tone and manifesto.
  • Design and uphold the operating model and processes across the entire Retail Communications group, including consistently maintaining all op model documentation, tools and processes. Responsible for holding team accountable to internal procedures.
  • Support content delivery for specific areas of responsibility, including intake, editing, publishing and hindsighting. Consults with business partners on ensuring accuracy and on most effective way to deliver content and craft messaging, to ensure high engagement, understanding and execution.
  • Produce all internal reporting and analysis, including volume reporting and forecasting, readership and execution. Measures and reports on all data points and annual benchmarks to provide detailed analysis and action plan based on results.
  • Manage all internal capacity calculations and adjustments to ensure team is highly productive and areas of responsibilities are balanced and revised when needed.
  • Be accountable for all internal administrative processes, including ticket resolution and shared inbox management. Ensures all tickets are addressed with SLA requirements and stores receive resolutions in timely manner.
  • Design contest and recognition strategy that supports achieving business metrics within retail organization, driving engagement and morale, and leveraging key brand partnerships to incentivize employees when appropriate.
  • Manage contest and recognition budget line to ensure funds are leveraged effectively and budget is not exceeded.
  • Consult with business partners as needed to leverage incentives to drive results and/or compliance when needed and assists in crafting effective strategy and providing estimated costs.
  • Develop and mentors team members to support personal career growth and feed broader department and Sephora talent pipeline, driving team culture, engagement and retention.

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 5+ years experience managing Retail Communications or communications in a professional environment or related
  • 3+ years of leadership and/or management experience in a corporate environment with an ability to develop and lead teams
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Exceptional editing and copyediting skills
  • Competency using Adobe Acrobat and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with an emphasis on Microsoft Word templates, styles and formatting
  • Ability to show initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility while demonstrating integrity, maturity, and a constructive approach to challenges and negotiating with others
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate and model client service standards
  • Openness to feedback, and strive to improve own performance based on that feedback
  • Quick learning ability; patient, comfortable with ambiguity and a willingness to take initiative

The annual base salary range for this position is $147,730.00 - $160,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
