Our new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk's innovative oral products. Are you ready to help make what matters? Then, we are ready for you!

Position Purpose

Head of Support in production for assigned processes. Responsible for all project & production deliverables in collaboration with operational organization. Lead tactical & long-term production processes & strategic initiatives to drive project as well as operational deliverables according to needs.

Contribute to a positive, constructive & ambitious work environment in department leadership team, as well as in own area of responsibility. Manage operational aspects including cost, quality & schedule requirements to meet production targets short & long term. Lead strategic activities to drive operational performance & process/technical improvements ensuring standardization across shift teams. Ensure engagement, motivation & development of employees in team.

Accountabilities

  • Exceed all quality objectives, specifications & requirements through robust processes
  • Drive productions performance to meet business & stakeholder needs
  • Elimination of issues & build simplicity into the processes
  • Alignment of process activities with lead time targets
  • Set direction by developing transparent process objectives based on site goals
  • Drive process performance to meet business & customer needs
  • Drive operational standardization & collaboration across departments & DAPI DK
  • Coach, develop & engage direct reports, focusing on the NNWay essentials
  • Integration of quality & business ethics into decisions
  • Process confirmation of project & process standards
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned


Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS in engineering or related field; (MA/MS or industry equivalent experience preferred)
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of leadership/management/supervisory experience in Engineering, Manufacturing or Maintenance with a preference toward pharmaceutical industries
  • Experience driving projects in a systematic way; cLEAN® & Six Sigma experience strongly preferred
  • Proven expertise in mentoring & development, change management, planning & organizing, managing execution & revising work plans for complex issues addressed by cross-functional teams


Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable in highly automated API manufacturing processes & technologies
  • Experience with people management in a matrix type organization is preferred


Physical & Other Requirements
  • Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility
  • Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands
  • Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
  • Constantly positions oneself to transfer materials within manufacturing environment. Frequently moves about building(s) to access other personnel & operational areas
  • Corrected vision to 20/30 &/or ability to pass vision screening assessment necessary to procure motorized vehicle license
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to access service equipment. Works atop elevated positions at heights
  • Occasionally required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle
  • Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments
  • Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment
  • Ability to travel internationally, up to 10% of the time. Ability to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other international time zones
  • Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction
  • Ability to work the hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
