POSITION: Senior Manager of Teacher Development
LOCATION: DSST Public Schools: Home Office in Denver, CO
SALARY: $75,000 - $84,000 with up to six years of aligned experience. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver!
STATUS: Full time, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
DSST Public Schools (DSST) seeks a Senior Manager of Teacher Development to join one of the leading charter school organizations in the nation. This position provides a unique opportunity for an individual with superior program visioning, strategic planning, project-management, people-leadership, and relationship-building skills to play a central role in supporting the advancement of Teacher Development across the organization.
The Senior Manager of Teacher Development will lead mission-critical work to:
  • Use data to effectively assess current state of instruction, diagnose areas of strength and need, and respond appropriately.
  • Execute the vision for and management of data collection and analysis as it relates to new Teacher Development across the network
  • Ensure DSST has effective tools, systems and structures for measuring and developing high quality professional development and instructional practices especially with new Teacher Development.
  • Lead contents cross-functionally to identify New Teacher training needs and execute on those needs across the Network,
  • Collaborate with multiple Home Office teams including Leader Development, Culture, Special Education and Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment to maintain the full scope of new Teacher Development needs.
  • Work in partnership with schools with high numbers of new/early career teachers, acting as a consistent (weekly) presence on campus to provide guidance and support for new Teacher Development.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Teacher Pipelines to ensure vision and support alignment for new teachers across the network.
  • Partner with Home Office Content Managers (Science, ELA, and Math) to ensure Teacher Leader content roles and responsibilities are aligned to best provide new Teacher Development.
  • Create a system for content onboarding utilized by new hires throughout the School Year.
  • Manages implementation and logistics of various DSST professional development (network content PD days, NSI, TLI, new teacher cohort,,)

Additional Duties: This role will also support Content programming execution and teacher leadership as needed (30%).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Possesses 3+ years as a 6-12 educator and instructional leader, encompassing mentorship and coaching responsibilities, dedicated to cultivating and empowering new educators.
  • 7+ years of experience working with both middle school and high school students, as well as school staff, fostering a positive and impactful learning environment.
  • An unwavering belief that all students can succeed in high school, reach their most ambitious post-secondary goals, and lead exemplary lives
  • Desire to personally professionally grow in their practice of becoming an anti-racist educator
  • Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve
  • Proven, measurable success in enhancing teacher retention rates.
  • Displays measurable advancements in student performance on assessments such as CMAS/PSAT, showcasing tangible outcomes from implemented strategies and interventions.
  • Highly organized individual comfortable with delivering impactful professional development sessions both in-person and virtually, adept at adapting to various instructional settings.
  • Openness to feedback and a proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, integrating feedback constructively.
  • Strong desire to revolutionize the public education system, ensuring equitable access to college opportunities for all students regardless of background.
  • Deep commitment to addressing educational inequities, with a passion for cultivating a joyful, inclusive school culture to drive equitable solutions.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, showcasing initiative both independently and within a team context, and adeptness in facilitating classroom sessions and educational events.
  • Ability to create clear, replicable systems and procedures for others to adopt, coupled with a strong customer service mindset, guiding users toward effective solutions.
  • Showcased influential leadership at school or network levels, exemplifying visionary strategy development and execution on an organizational or system-wide scope.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students
  • 7+ years of experience in education (classroom experience required)
  • 3+ years of experience in school leadership or central office or network leadership
  • Ample classroom experience and a diverse range of leadership roles within the school setting (e.g., department lead, coaching roles, vice-principal), showcasing a creative and entrepreneurial approach in teacher training and program development.
