In this role, you will support company efforts to maintain a positive employee relations environment, inclusive of high employee engagement and performance as well as upholding company culture. You will develop and implement proactive employee relations management strategies that support business partners' business goals and effectively manage Labor Relations, including responding to labor activity up to and including union campaigns. You will provide proactive employee engagement consultation and help ensure business partners comply with employment law, labor law, and the Gap Inc. Code of Business Conduct.What You'll Do
- Maintain up-to date knowledge base of US labor law
- Support development and maintenance of Gap Inc. Labor Relations strategy, philosophy, and trainings
- Develop education and conduct training on proactive employee and Labor Relations, identifying and addressing organizational vulnerabilities
- Counsel business partners on proactive measures to ensure maintenance of a positive employee relations environment and compliance with applicable labor and employment regulations
- Serve as internal consultant/point person to address Labor Relations issues that arise
- Manage and execute on the company's response to union campaigns, including strategy development and implementation
- Manage a team when responding to union activity and campaigns
- Build action plans with partners to address any concerns
- Build cross-functional partnerships and consensus
- Proven experience with US employment law and labor laws
- Experience creating and maintaining a proactive employee relations strategy
- Strategizing in response to labor activity and union campaigns
- Ability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions
- High professional standards regarding customer service, confidentiality and integrity
- Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization (both verbally and in writing)
