In this vital role you will play a meaningful role as a strategic IT partner to the R&D Global Development Operations (GDO) organization. The selected candidate will be accountable for end-to-end service delivery, strategy, and focus on transformation of the Clinical Trial Management, Monitoring & Engagement technology landscape. This leader will have direct reporting responsibility for the multidisciplinary IT team providing end to end information and technology capability.GDO is a critical business area with high impact on the design, startup and execution of Amgen Clinical Trials and technology plays a vital role in support of this business area.

The Senior Manager will be accountable for developing strategy for the transformation and lifecycle management of the application portfolio.As a Senior Manager Information Systems, you will:Take a leadership role in the management of the product team and CWs by educating, inspiring, and guiding in delivery and maintenance of this product to enrich business area strategy as a wholeResponsible for the systems in the Clinical Trial Execution landscape with respect to Clinical Trial Management, Monitoring & Engagement (includes Site & Patient)Manage relationships with GDO business partners providing long-term robust support for Clinical TrialsLead conversations with architects, vendors, and other partners to build and maintain solutionsResponsible for the product roadmap and collaboration with the product manager, business product and process owners, and product teamDrive innovation to transform clinical trial execution systems enabling business to optimize their processes, efficiency, and effectiveness; this includes application of cognitive capabilities helping with intelligent automation of legacy, manual processesKeep track of industry and technology trends, connect, and foster external networking opportunities to deliver valuable insight from other similar professionals in the industryResponsible for portfolio and financial management including securing funds, RFPs, exploration of solution options, forecasting, demand/resource planning, vendor management and run/build operations for reportingResponsible for direct supervision, mentoring and development of hard-working team of business analysts, software analysts, and testersTravel: Domestic and international travel up to 25% might be essentialWinWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The technical leader we seek is a collaborative professional with a passion for innovation and has these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experienceORMasters degree and 6 years of Information Systems experienceORBachelors degree and 8 years of Information Systems experienceORAssociates degree and 10 years of Information Systems experienceORHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experienceAnd2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resourcesPreferred Qualifications:10+ years of IT Industry work experience in Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Maintenance of software applications in Health & Life SciencesDemonstrated track record supporting R&D Clinical systems and solutionsTenured experience working on and leading major programs/projects that involve multiple partners and external vendors and leading end-to-end from initiation to project closureKnowledge of the Clinical Trials domain and business functions processes, tools, data standards, artifacts and systems (CTMS, TMF, EDC, IVRS etc.)Experience in supporting regulated/validated systems and understanding of 21CFR Part 11 requirements)Strong communications skills in writing, speaking, presenting to various audiences in a clear and concise mannerExperience with Business Development Acquisitions and DivestmentsPrior experience as a people manager, a program/ project team lead or mentor of teamIntellectual curiosity and the ability to question partners across functionsExperience with all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and use of Agile/SCRUM methodologiesProven ability to work and lead in a dynamic environment with little supervisionThriveWhat you can expect of usAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being.The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S.
