TheSenior Manager, ESG Accounting is a newly created role focused on the emerging area of ESG (Enviromental, Social and Governance) reporting. This position will be responsible for helping ensure our Company is positioned for and responsive to the growing expectations among our stakeholders and regulators for accurate and transparent reporting with appropriate controls and procedures.
The role will be responsible for partnering with our Sustainability team and other members of our Corporate Affairs organization to ensure that KDP can meet the rapidly evolving needs around Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting. The person will partner with his/her Sustainability team counterpart, as well as other members of KDP, to take our existing process and fully build a reporting process and system that is based using the COSO framework to ensure there is a controlled process with specific oversight and governance around the end-to-end ESG reporting process, from data collection to reporting.
In addition to working with our Sustainability team, this role will also work cross functionally with areas such as Legal, Supply Chain (including Procurement) and Operations.
This position is based at our HQ in Frisco, TX and will have a hybrid scheduled (3 days in the office and 2 days work from home on a weekly basis)
Major Responsibilities:
- Build an ESG financial reporting disclosure framework
- Design and implement key controls, process and procedures related to completeness and accuracy around ESG related disclosures.
- Help to drive the implementation of new accounting/sustainability standards (including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive/future SEC climate regulations/California Sustainability Laws) in collaboration with the Sustainability team and monitor regulations/developments to ensure compliance
- Review and support the Company's annual ESG and other sustainability related reports
- Partner with the Company's Sustainability team and ESG data owners to identify and monitor key ESG metrics
- Coordinate with auditors to walkthrough processes and controls around the underlying data received from ESG data owners necessary to obtain external assurance as well as any internal audit review
- Develop policy around the sharing of ESG data with external business partners, such as customers, to ensure any information provided is in accordance with the financial reporting disclosure framework
- Draft financial statement disclosures related to ESG matters in the Company's quarterly and annual reports filed with the SEC, as applicable
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- 5+ years of related professional experience with a focus on controls
- Detail oriented with a commitment to a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to react to changes quickly and work effectively in high-pressure situations
- Previous experience working in complex environments and driving change
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
- Ability to work in less structured work environment for daily activities
