I. Job Summary
Recognized across the organization for commercial Energy Marketing/trading expertise with experience across multiple commodities. Prior experience in developing new business, managing client relationships, and managing energy commodity portfolios. Understands financial risk management, physical energy logistics as well as legal/ contractual requirements when executing transactions. Able and willing to sell/market/trade on their own but must have prior management/supervisory experience in this field.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Research short and medium term market activity / trends and develops a strategic and tactical plan to monetize WM's energy portfolio, particularly natural gas, renewable credits and power.
- Responsible for short- and medium-term energy and renewable credit transactions.
- Leads a small team of marketing/trading employees. Responsible for coaching, directing and motivating them to be successful.
- Manages relationships with partners, re-sellers and brokers on behalf of WM
- Works closely with WM functions in plant operations, compliance and regulatory to establish and understand the inventory available for sale.
- Works with WMRE senior management to establish strategy and resources as appropriate.
- Works with internal and external customers, suppliers and other partners to resolve problems, respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancements, test, refine and institutionalize solutions.
- Responsible for advising management on sales, trading and hedging strategies and activities.
- Familiar with energy transaction I.T. systems (Nymex, ICE, Nodal) as well as Over-the-Counter transactions.
- Prior experience working with mid and back office employees systems( while not essential) would be helpful.

A. Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelors Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience: Seven (7) years of relevant work in energy commodity markets (in addition to education requirement)
