Who You Are and What You'll Do
The Senior Manager of Community Impact & Engagement will support SheaMoisture's Purpose and Brand Partnerships team by helping develop the vision for the brand's Community Impact and engagement strategy, including supporting a seven-figure philanthropic and experiential budget to support the brand's community investments and partnerships. The role will monitor SheaMoisture's social impact across the business and oversee strategic planning, impact measurement, and scaling of existing programs and partnerships. Primary responsibilities include: work with the Head of Purpose and Brand Partnerships to set strategic direction, identify priorities and opportunities, develop internal and external communications, and refine social impact objectives to align with the company's business and impact goals.
This role will manage two roles on the Purpose and Brand Partnerships team: (1) Associate Manager - SheaMoisture Impact Programs and (2) Associate Manager, Consumer Events.
  • Oversee fiscal management of Purpose and Experiential budgets
  • Provide regular insights into social impact trends, best practices and benchmarking in the beauty and wellbeing space that will help the brand disrupt trends and innovate Purpose programs and experiential activations
  • Build meaningful pathways for consumer and employee engagement with the brand's large-scale community events and campaigns
  • Work across Masterbrand to identify opportunities for inclusion in cultural events and partnerships that raise awareness of the brand's purpose commitments
  • Vet national partnerships, including helping identify and manage brand talent for the brand's BCI (Brand Communication Idea) to ensure it supports the brand'scommunities while driving positive financial impact
  • Hold regular meetings to track the brand's diversity spending and community investment across the business
  • Make regular requests for impact and funding reports from partners and work with the Associate Program Manager to conduct timely program evaluation and onboarding of businesses
  • Lead production of SheaMoisture's annual Impact Report to highlight the brand's key impact metrics
  • Evaluate opportunities for external recognition and awardsfor the brand's social impact and purpose campaigns
  • Manage working group dedicated to SheaMoisture's shea butter sourcing model that includes but is not limited to roles responsible for the procurement, R&D, compliance, and ethical sourcing for SheaMoisture products
  • Develop/Maintain a contemporary understanding of community and economic development trends with an eye toward where the company has an opportunity to drive internal value and external impact
  • Provide employee education and onboarding materials for SheaMoisture purpose and investment models
  • Provide stakeholders, clients and partners with materials (reports, FAQs, marketing sheets or any additional information) about SheaMoisture purpose strategy, impact and objectives
  • Maintain regular communications with Unilever's B&W Legal, Comms & Corporate Affairs, and Sustainability teams to help identify and resolve any risks related to the brands social mission goals
  • Work with PR and Executive teams to develop talking points and identify opportunities for SheaMoisture leadership to showcase the brand's purpose commitments and investments
  • Work cross-functionally, specifically with Marketing & Engagement teams, to develop authentic storytelling practices, and develop social impact content that highlights the brand's commitments and progress

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience driving social impact for consumer brands. Must be a genuinely passionate, curious leader with a strong track record in CSR, ESG or Social Impact (including community engagement, volunteerism, and philanthropy), giving you a keen understanding of global and local trends in this space.
  • Able to identify new opportunities and innovative ideas for driving social impact, particularly in African American communities, and can clearly communicate those ideas, concepts and proposals to engage employees, senior leaders and the broader community
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are imperative
  • Vast experience in impact reporting, assessment and evaluation desired
  • Strong program management skills, particularly with planning methods and coordinating programs, as well as budget preparation and monitoring
  • Proven experience to execute on a corporate social responsibility strategy
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex projects with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent grasp of social impact models and trends
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, can synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates ownership, works independently
  • Desire for public speaking and strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrates managerial courage; leverages organizational and professional savvy and persuasive skills to influence others
  • Adept at navigating the intricacies of working cross-functionally with a wide range of teams and senior leaders in a fast paced environment where the ability to build trust, influence and relationships is critical to success
  • Familiarity with AirTable (impact tracking software)

Pay: The pay range for this position is $110,700 to $166,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
