The Senior Manager is responsible for developing and leading the learning strategy across Ethicon Commercial Education. The incumbent will lead a team consisting of delivery and design professionals and vendor partnerships to co-create the design and development of learning continuums and learning strategies for all customer facing associates. The candidate will partner with global Commercial Education partners as well as global commercial leaders across the organization (Marketing & Sales) to align on the learning strategy, ensure consistent effective training consistency, as well as build learning professional capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with GES functional leads & commercial Business leaders to understand business strategy
- Consult with Global Marketing and local Sales & Marketing and offer expertise on the establishment of training priorities to meet business objectives and ensure sales growth. Ensure learning strategies are aligned with the Commercial business plans
- Lead and support development of Managers, Commercial Education, and support Sales Training Representatives (STRs) to include recruitment, retention, and development.
- Lead global curriculum strategy and content design for all platforms/specialties within the Ethicon Franchise to build product, procedure, and clinical selling skills
- Lead and supervise the training component of the Launch Excellence process
- Develop Global strategy and content for all Foundational (new hire), Advanced, and Master level programming
- Manage and propel several content development projects simultaneously
- Establish a governance process for all Education Solutions Design content, curriculum, and strategy to ensure consistency, quality, effectiveness, and compliance
- Partner with Copy Review, HCC, Medical Affairs and Regulatory to align on process
- Identify, evaluate, and present current research and latest benchmarking trends in learning media and technology-based performance development solutions enhancing effectiveness and innovation of training programs
- Develop metric strategy to track outcomes and learning effectiveness
- Be responsible for vendor negotiations and manage projects to ensure outsourced products meet Johnson & Johnson’s expectations. Lead project reviews
- Work with procurement, legal, and other JNJ departments on vendor contracts and statements of works to ensure adherence to company policies
- Maintain operating budget
Qualifications
Education:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree is required
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7 years of Healthcare-Medical sales experience
- Minimum 2 years (5 years preferred) experience in Learning and Development – heavy emphasis on Instructional Design & Delivery
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Learning Management systems management, strategic planning, needs assessment, adult learning, and cost benefit analysis
- Proven ability to understand business strategy; translate it into learning solutions that support the company’s business goals
- Ability to lead cross functional teams and across a matrix organization
- Proven ability to manage vendor resources
- Strategy development and execution
- Curriculum Design/Training facilitation
- Proven project management, negotiation, and consulting skills
- Demonstrates creative, practical problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Willingness to travel globally as the need arises
- Must be located (or willing to relocate to) in close proximity to the Cincinnati, Ohio based Institute and be able to work in office 3 days per week.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,500. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

- Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
- Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
