General Description:
The Sr. Manager, Commercial Analytics will be responsible for designing and executing insights-driven analytics to inform decision making, drive product performance, and support launch of new products. This role will involve analyzing secondary market data, monitoring commercial performance identifying key drivers of success, and conducting ad hoc analysis to drive business growth. This individual will report to the Senior Director, Commercial Analytics and is a key member of the Business Analytics organization. The individual must work effectively with sales teams and home office personnel to provide insights and recommendations on a variety of issues and imperatives impacting sales team success. Specific examples of key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Development of the targeting / call plan for sales personnel, sales force alignment, sales force effectiveness, and ad hoc analytics. Driving these deliverables effectively and optimally requires extensive collaborative efforts with Commercial Management, Commercial Operations, Marketing, Market Access, Sales, and other functions within Analytics.
Essential Functions of the job:

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop data driven targeting of entities including, accounts, health systems, and physicians. Collaborate with the advance analytics team on data-driven behavior segmentation of physicians, accounts, payers, and patients.
  • Conduct and manage all field force targeting, sizing, and structural analyses.
  • Drive development of field force call plan. Work with marketing on customer segmentation and sales operations on integrating the call plan into the CRM/SFA systems.
  • Partner cross-functionally to establish benchmarks and key performance indicators, as well as success metrics for product and marketing initiatives.
  • Determine territory alignments to assure adequate coverage of key accounts; provide on-going analysis to determine need for additional territories.
  • Support the development and administration of the field incentive compensation program. Ensure that plans motivate field personnel and support commercial objectives.
  • Provide ad hoc analyses as necessary to support senior management and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide insights into business performance and recommendations to internal customers at all levels.
  • Design and enhance Commercial Operations Systems: (CRM, executive dashboard, and sales business intelligence tools).
  • Develop customer quarterly business review materials and reporting to reporting to senior management.
  • Identify and frame key business issues needing further research and align relevant team members on the objectives, approaches, and recommendations
  • Identify appropriate external partners while considering resources, timing, and overall project goals.
  • Actively integrate secondary research findings with other analytical insights (primary research, forecasting) developed by team members within the Commercial Operations and Business Analytics (COBA) team.
  • Create and implement comprehensive communication plans to optimize the organizational impact of competitive and environmental insights on product strategies and plans.
  • Ensure key multi-stakeholder insights and recommendations are quickly and appropriately shared with cross-functional partners, including colleagues in corporate functions and ex-US affiliates.
  • Apply basic consulting skills, including consultative listening, problem definition, hypothesis generation, data analysis, translation to value, and oral and written presentation for impact.
  • Demonstrate leadership courage with regard to setting boundaries and ensuring time is spent on the most critical/ high value projects
  • Act with speed, agility, and accountability, while adapting to evolving business needs.
  • Cultivate meaningful internal and external partnerships, adding value and insights for the organization.

Education Required:
  • BA/BS degree is required. Advanced degree (e.g. MBA), preferred in business, economics, biological, or medical sciences.

Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS with concentration in Life Sciences, Marketing, or Businerss with 7 plus years of overall excperience.
  • 6 plus years of consulting with additional industry experience.
  • 5 plus years of progressive experience in consulting and Commercial Analytics and/or sales operations.
  • Biotech or pharmaceutical expereince required.
  • Oncology experience preferred, with hematology/medical oncology strongly preferred.
  • Hands on, in-depth understanding of secondary data sources (e.g., syndicated sales, longitudinal patient-level data, IQVIA, Symphony Health, Payer data, formulary data, other claims and EMR data systems).
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate the data and learning into actionable recommendations for business growth.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and excellence in project management, including effectively managing multiple projects/priorities.
  • Experience managing vendors and consultants.
  • Ability to adapt plans and strategies as new market findings arise.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize findings and deliver a clear overview of recommendations.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in consulting and Commercial Analytics and/or sales operations
  • Biotech or pharmaceutical required
  • Oncology experience preferred, with hematology/medical oncology strongly preferred
  • Hands on, in-depth understanding of secondary data sources (e.g., syndicated sales, longitudinal patient-level data, IQVIA, Symphony Health, Payer data, formulary data, other claims and EMR data systems)

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and excellence in project management, including effectively managing multiple projects/priorities
  • Experience managing vendors and consultants
  • Ability to adapt plans and strategies as new market findings arise
  • Ability to go into the San Mateo office weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays preferred.

Other Qualifications:
  • Experience working with mapping software for territory alignment, experience working on reporting tools with SQL as the backend preferred.

Computer Skills:
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience working with large complex data and corresponding query/ programming languages such as SAS, Alteryx, and SQL

Salary Range: $136,000.00 - $181,000.00 annually
BeiGene is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
