THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:
This position is a hybrid combining Sr Brand Manager responsibilities around a key company strategy, BIPOC Merchandising Strategy. In this role, the SBM will oversee the initial and ongoing strategy, execution and collaboration of the BIPOC Merchandising Strategy and the Merchandising strategies that support this initiative.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Area Strategy:
- Leads the development and execution of the BIPOC Merchandising strategy through cross category review and collaboration. Manages strategy execution and provides input and direction to Merchant partners on initiative.
- Participate in long-range merchandising and strategy development around all things BIPOC Merchandising. Includes partnering with Merchants and MP&I on BIPOC placement, assortment and overall execution. Drive analytics and 3-5 year strategy around BIPOC growth and support of 15% pledge commitment.
Strategy/Merchandising Development:
- Responsible managing the development of BIPOC brand base and successfully growing their businesses at Ulta Beauty
- Develop category strategy and manage team's collaboration Apply critical thinking skills and tracking management to help lead growth in BIPOC brands
Standup with cross functional support an Ulta Beauty Accelerator
- Develop content to aid in educating brands on how to grow at Ulta Beauty
- Strategic vendor management with key partner brands/council
Marketing:
- Responsible for marketing partnership around BIPOC for marketing initiatives.
- Strategy briefs and support documentation around platform
- Work directly with the DMM/VP and Marketing on overall marketing strategy for category/categories.
- Oversee Strategy:
- Key launch 360 marketing plans
- Dotcom Brand Store Strategy
- Sampling and CRM Strategy, as needed
- In-store Merchandising: Collaborate with buyers on securing and developing off-shelf placement and required marketing collateral
Trend:
- Proactively assess and monitor the competitive landscape and needs for BIPOC Brands and marketplace to determine potential opportunities
Planograms:
- Oversee team's development and execution of planogram for BIPOC table
- Add/Delete, Fixture development and graphics
- Maintain/drive analysis of fixture space devoted to BIPOC brand representation
Analyze:
- Proactively assess and monitor the BIPOC competitive landscape and marketplace to determine potential opportunities and develop strategies to address.
THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
- Bachelors degree required
- 8+ years total experience in retail, preferred Buying at a Senior level experience at Ulta Beauty
- Must have both merchandising and MP&I experience
- Strong established cross-functional expertise with Ulta Beauty
- Passionate about the CB space, ingredients and evolution of this platform
- High emotional intelligence/IQ and strong relationship management skills
- High Energy/Positive Team Member, Collaborator and Contributor
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and creative problem solver
- Capability to lead brand meetings and presentations
- Demonstrates enterprise thinking
- Professionalism and confidentiality required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SAP and SAP Hana a plus
- Strong organizational skills required
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Some travel required
