Position Summary:
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize logistics and supply chain operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of resources necessary for NINDS's groundbreaking research into neurological disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management, inventory control, and supply chain optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supply Chain Management: Oversee the procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory management of research materials and equipment. Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
· Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers, negotiating contracts to secure the best terms and prices for goods and services. Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
· Logistics Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate logistics for the import and export of research materials. Ensure compliance with international and domestic shipping regulations and safety standards.
· Inventory Management: Implement inventory control systems to track stock levels, orders, and deliveries. Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve logistics processes, implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
· Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
· At least 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with a proven track record of improving efficiency and reducing costs.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in logistics software and databases.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Familiarity with the specific logistics and regulatory challenges of the healthcare or research sectors is a plus.
