Job Description
BAE Systems under the High-Performance Computing Modernization Program Integrated Technical Services Contract II (HITS-U II) directly supports the DoD’s High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) mission. We deliver world-class commercial, high-end, high-performance computational capabilities to the Department of Defense's (DoD’s) Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) community at the DoD Supercomputing Resource Centers (DSRCs) Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills.
Currently we are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support systems across the program. This is a 100% virtual position with the possibility of very little travel (less than 10%).
A successful candidate should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. Flexibility in approach to finding solutions, the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities and learn new technologies quickly. You will also need to be willing to respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts.
The selected system administrator will work with a team of engineers to review and define configurations, create automation scripts to deploy and configure network assets, review, and deploy software applications, and provide support for testing, demonstration, and technical interchange meetings to include troubleshooting, patching, hardening, and configuration management.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Certifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT II (or better) Certification (i.e. Security+)
- OS Software Certification (i.e. Linux+)
Experience and familiarity with the following:

• Puppet
• Ansible
• Linux Administration (RHEL 7/8)
• Bash scripting and process automation
• LAMP web services software stack
• PKI Authentication
• SSL Certificate Management
• DoD STIG Compliance
• Kickstart

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Nice to Have:

• Networking Experience
• Zabbix
• Radix/eMASS (or similar scanning tools)
• Archival Storage Systems
• GitLab Administration

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
