Graf Research is seeking a full time on-site Senior Systems Administrator to join the IT team at our Blacksburg, VA Headquarters. This position will support our internal software and hardware development teams and help to maintain our growing IT infrastructure. A successful candidate will have a diverse knowledge base with a strong foundation in all things Linux and experience with Microsoft Windows/O365.
Must Have
- At least 3-5 years of enterprise IT experience
- Experience supporting Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS) in an enterprise environment
- Experience with network management (firewall, VPN, VLAN, FortiOS)
- Familiarity with container management and virtualization (KVM, VirtualBox, Docker)
- Proficiency in directly working with both local and remote staff to solve IT issues
- The ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently
- Proficiency with the Office 365 suite of applications (Outlook, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
- Willingness to jump in and help wherever needed
- US Citizenship
Should Have
- Experience deploying or managing LDAP (FreeIPA), NFS, DNS, Postfix mail
- Experience maintaining Continuous Integration environments (Jenkins, Gitlab, Docker)
- Proficiency in shell scripting and log processing (e.g. via awk, sed, grep)
- Knowledge of cyber security best practice and implementation
- Microsoft Windows administration and support
Nice To Have
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Management of Office365, Microsoft Azure, inTune, etc.
- Apple OSX / iOS support
- Experience implementing NIST 800-171 controls
Location - Blacksburg, VA. On-site required, no on-call necessary.
Travel Requirements - No specific travel requirement, but candidates capable of infrequent travel to remote Graf Research locations will be given priority.
