Job Summary
This rate of pay for this position is $18.00 per hour. Develop and maintain janitorial and maintenance schedule and notify Supervisor with any issues or concerns found while performing duties. Work directly with the other Janitor to assist with training and completion of core tasks and assignments.
Primary Duties

  • Perform janitorial and light maintenance duties as per schedule for Ames Street Campus and Friendship House of Fayetteville (FSH).
  • Drop company vehicles at repair facilities, drive janitorial vehicle for maintenance, supplies, back and forth to buildings at Ames Street and FSH, and to the landfill.
  • Maintain janitorial storage rooms at buildings at Ames Street and FSH and the associated equipment, to ensure they are clean and orderly. Ensure all supplies are stored and used in First In, First Out (FIFO) sequence. Order replacement supplies as needed.
  • Will receive company phone, key fob badge, M and Gate key, and an alarm code to access all buildings for janitorial work, or to let vendors into the building to perform requested repair(s).

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate movement of trash and recycling containers to meet pickup dates for the Pavilion at FSH.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control Director on changes with Safety Data Sheets when new cleaning products are purchased or stored in the Janitors storage room.
  • Wash and dry janitorial supplies with in-house washer and dryer.
  • Maintenance duties include but are not limited to light bulbs at Ames Street and FSH, HVAC filters, HVAC drain lines, lubricate locks on buildings and gates at Ames and FSH, company vehicle tire inflation, minor assembly of purchased equipment.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience with cleaning commercial buildings required.
  • Must have NC driver's license, per state law, to perform work-related travel. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to work well with people internally and externally at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand chemical/supply labels and instructions, and train other janitor on their safe use and storage.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products - Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is working inside and outside buildings and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
