Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Investment Analyst will analyze past financial performance to model future potential acquisitions and to advise the company on its financial strategy. This role will be responsible for evaluating commercial real estate financing requests, conducting collateral analysis, assessing market conditions, and identifying pertinent risks. This role also entails drafting offering and financing memorandums, detailing critical analyses, opportunities, and risks, while providing support for investment decisions.

Essential Duties:
Specific duties and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
• Develop, refine, and maintain intricate financial models for evaluating commercial real estate investment opportunities, incorporating waterfall models for comprehensive cash flow analysis.
• Conduct thorough analyses of investment returns, cash flows, and other financial metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
• Utilize dynamic modeling techniques to assess the impact of market conditions and waterfall structures on investment performance, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance existing models and develop new models tailored to specific investment scenarios.
• Design and implement financial models to depict the distribution of cash flows among various stakeholders in real estate investments.
• Analyze and optimize waterfall structures to align with investment objectives and enhance overall returns.
• Review and analyze due diligence materials as part of the underwriting process.
• Ensure that models comply with industry best practices and regulations, staying abreast of any changes or updates.
• Present and communicate investment strategies, analyses, and waterfall structures in a clear and compelling manner, adapting your communication style to diverse audiences
• Provide ongoing support to internal customers, addressing inquiries, and adjusting models based on changing market conditions or client needs.
• Interface with leadership to offer insights and recommendations derived from robust financial analyses.
• Play an active role in collaborative efforts to develop and refine investment strategies, contributing a modeling and waterfall perspective to the decision-making process.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience:
We're looking for someone with the following:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, real estate, or related field required; MBA or CFA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a commercial real estate investment/financial role, self storage a plus.
• Proven expertise in real estate underwriting, with a demonstrated ability to create accurate financial models.
• Ability to perform in a tight deadline driven environment with ever changing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Publisher, and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of project management.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
• Duties performed in a standard, indoor office environment.
• Be stationary for prolonged periods of time.
• Inputs data with repetitive motion (typing).
• Stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and repetitive motion may be required in completion of job duties.
