YOUR PURPOSE AND FUNCTION IN OUR COMPANY:

Onsite requirement: once/month in New Berlin, NY office. The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for the development and maintenance of the audit universes, completing annual risk assessments of the universes, preparing risk based audit schedules, preparing audit reports and planning individual audits that provides independent assurance to the leaders of the Company and the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. Provides guidance to staff in the development of audit programs, supervises field work testing and reviews work products.

This position is responsible for preparing analysis, appraisals, recommendations and providing counsel and information concerning areas audited in compliance with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF). Participates in the presentation of audit results to senior management and the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required and CPA or CIA, preferred.
  • Five to seven years auditing experience including audit planning, testing and supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintaining and developing the audit universes, audit risk assessments, risk based audit schedules, audit programs and procedure manuals in conformity with IPPF Standards and the Internal Audit Charter.
  • Participate with supervision and training of Internal Auditors.
  • Review audit work and final work product to ensure it is in compliance department standards, conforms to IPPF Standards and supports the audit opinion.
  • Overall responsibility for planning and completion of assigned audits. Evaluates audit scope and prepares audit programs designed to achieve stated audit objectives.
  • Ensure audits are conducted in a professional manner and in accordance with approved audit programs.
  • Determine through appropriate review of work papers and audit techniques if the organization is in compliance with laws and regulations that could have a significant impact on operations and reports, and determines whether the organization is in compliance.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the organizations system of internal control and the quality of performance in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Perform research to identify and assess laws and ordinances or review legal summaries and determines if the program being evaluated is in compliance.
  • Make or assist in making, presentations to management and the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors during and at the conclusion of the examination discussing results, deficiencies, and recommending corrective action.
  • Review and prepare formal written reports expressing opinions and conclusions regarding the audit results.
  • Evaluate and conclude on the adequacy of corrective actions taken by management to improve deficient conditions. Monitor management responses and corrective action plans to ensure all deficiencies are resolved appropriately.
